Will Caughron scored 16 points and Rosewood earned its first win of the season by knocking off visiting Midway 68-52.

Antonio Henriques provided 13 points and Cody Harris had 10.

The Eagles (1-3) travel to Lakewood on Tuesday.

Faith victorious

Faith Christian earned a 51-37 home win over Gateway Christian (Va.) on Friday night.

David Sladick scored 18 points for the Conquerors and Chris Powell supplied nine. Wes Caudle contributed eight points.

Faith (3-1) travels to Trinity of Greenville.

PHS stumbles

PRINCETON -- Princeton missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer and fell 55-52 to North Johnston on Friday night.

Chris Vick led the Panthers with 20 points.

David Gurganus scored a team-high 14 points for the Bulldogs. Andre Nixon added 11 points and Benton Myers supplied eight points.

Princeton (0-2) entertains Midway on Tuesday night.

Girl's basketball

Saints prevail

DUDLEY - Southern Wayne played a balanced game on both ends of the floor and earned a 51-35 victory over Jones Senior on Friday night in non-conference basketball action.

Kayla Powell led the Saints with 14 points and nine rebounds. Sharnelle Garner and Andrel Morris each added nine points in the win. Kanesha Jones and Danielle Carlton each tallied seven points respectively.

Tavonda Haddock led the Trojans with 11 points.

Southern Wayne will host Jacksonville Northside on Tuesday night.

Rams earn win

SNOW HILL -- Greene Central improved to 4-1 with a 41-31 home win over Ayden-Grifton on Friday evening.

Brittany Jones chipped in 13 points, four assists and four steals. Dominique Graham had seven points.

The Rams play host to Wilson Fike on Tuesday.

Warriors go down

Wilson Fike built a 35-20 halftime lead and never looked back in a 59-39 win at Eastern Wayne on Friday night.

Aquila Drake paced the Demons with 10 points. Tia Jones scored a game-high 16 for the Warriors.

Eastern Wayne (1-3) visits Goldsboro on Tuesday.

Gators tagged

DEEP RUN -- Spring Creek suffered a 46-35 loss at South Lenoir on Friday evening.

Shaquita Jones led the Blue Devils with 23 points.

Katlyn Casey scored 10 points for the Gators with three points. Melanquie DeVeaux chipped in eight points and Norma Valentin had seven points.

Spring Creek shot 7-for-21 from the free throw line.

The Gators visit Harrells Christian on Tuesday.
