GREENVILLE -- Faith Christian played 32 minutes of strong defense as they bested Trinity Christian of Greenville 28-16 on Monday night in N.C. Christian Schools Association 2-A action.
Christina Powell led the Conquerors with nine points and three steals. Brianna Champion added six points,while teammate Madison Caudle pulled down 13 rebounds.
Faith Christian (3-3 overall) returns to action Dec. 14 at Falls Road Baptist.

Faith edged
GREENVILLE -- Turnovers and poor foul shooting spelled disaster for Faith Christian in a 46-45 loss to NCCSA 2-A rival Trinity Christian on Monday night.
The Conquerors missed nine free throws in the final period and tallied 31 turnovers for the game. Davis Lettick paced Faith Christian with 16 points. Wes Caudle added 10 points.

Rebels fall short
CALYPSO -- North Duplin could not hold off a second-half rally as North Johnston garnered a 51-30 victory in a matchup of former Carolina 1-A Conference opponents.
James Kornegay, Alan Schilling and Devin Oliver each scored six points to pace the Rebels' balanced scoring attack. Shayne Deaver added five points.
North Duplin (0-3 overall) visits Union tonight.
JV sports
* Boys' basketball: Faith Christian 35, Trinity Christian 15 -- Brandon Jones and Wes Caudle each scored eight points apiece to lead the Conquerors. Faith Christian improved to 3-0 overall.
* Girls' basketball: Faith Christian 27, Trinity Christian 25 -- Brianna Champion led the Conquerors (2-0 overall) with 13 points and eight rebounds. Molly Roebuck added five points in the win.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 34, Dillard 12 -- Quinika Artis scored 12 points to lead the Cobras. Kayla Sauls added eight points in the win. Norwayne improved to 4-0 overall.
* Girls' basketball: Grantham 24, Spring Creek 13 -- Latrecia Johnson led the Bulldogs with 11 points. Keaton Bradley and Tia Gilespie each added eight points in the victory. Alyssa Borvia paced Spring Creek with six points. Grantham improved to 2-2 overall.
