ROCKY MOUNT --Lauren Carraway claimed a victory at No. 1 singles, but it wasn't enough to propel Greene Central past Rocky Mount on Wednesday afternoon at Sunset Park.

The Gryphons cruised to a 7-2 victory.

Samantha Taylor earned the Rams' second point with a win at No. 3 singles.

Rocky Mount swept the doubles to seal the visitors' fate.

"We played better today, but Rocky Mount is just too tough," said Greene Central head caoch Donald Clark. "They play doubles as well as any team in eastern North Carolina."

Greene Central (1-2 overall) travels to Wilson Beddingfield on Tuesday for its first match against a 2-A opponent this season.
