Wayne South wins, Aycock tumbles

FOUR OAKS -- Zach Grantham provided three hits and two RBI as Wayne South picked up a 9-3 win at South Johnston on Monday night.
Taylor Brock and Thomas Kelly (RBI) both added two hits for Wayne South. Cody Davis (RBI), Keith Jones, Keenan Winn and Duane Gurganus (2 RBI) each provided a hit.
Davis got the start on the mound for Wayne South and earned the win while allowing two earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work.
Will Raynor gave up one earned run over three innings of relief.
Wayne South hosts North Lenoir tonight at Spring Creek High School.
CBA defeated
ROCKY MOUNT -- A run-scoring fielder's choice in the bottom of the fourth provided the game's only run in Rocky Mount's 1-0 victory over Charles B. Aycock on Monday night.
Rocky Mount starting pitcher Parker Helms tossed a complete game while holding Aycock to just three hits to go with six strikeouts and three walks.
Colin DuBose, Jordan Quinn and Cameron Taylor each collected a hit for Aycock.
Rocky Mount and Aycock both advance to the Eastern state qualifier being played Friday and Saturday at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary.
Times of the games and opponents have yet to be determined.
