Wayne Country Day School celebrated homecoming on a big way with a 63-18 thrashing of visiting Trinity Christian of Raleigh Friday night.

The Chargers (9-5) jumped out to a 31-10 halftime lead and never looked back as 12 different players scored. Spenser Briggs led the charge with a game-high 23 points.

The Chargers will be traveling to Rocky Mount on Monday to meet Faith Christian.

Aycock falls to improving Eagles

VANCEBORO -- West Craven's Willie Perry scored 12 points as the Eagles dropped their second Wayne County team in as many nights with a 67-53 win over Charles B. Aycock in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference play.

Jamorris Dickerson led the Golden Falcons (3-15, 3-9 ECC) with 13 points and six rebounds.

Aycock erased a 10-point West Craven (7-12, 4-8) halftime lead and went up 40-37 in the third, only to see the Eagles post 27 points in the fourth to pull away. West Craven made 16 free throws in the fourth.

The Falcons play host to West Carteret on Tuesday.

MOREHEAD CITY - West Carteret topped Southern Wayne 50-48 on Friday..

Southern Wayne (8-10, 5-7 Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference) takes on Washington at home on Tuesday.

West Carteret (7-7, 5-5 ECC) travels to Aycock on Tuesday.

Rebels rock on Princeton

CALYPSO -- North Duplin knew Princeton's main offensive weapon was hot-shooting guard Karter Yutzy. The Rebels managed to take Yutzy away with foul trouble on the way to a 58-42 win over their Carolina 1-A Conference rivals Friday night at the Rebel gym.

Saladeem Dewberry had 19 points for North Duplin, while Matt Braswell and Montrell Garner each had 17.

Brandon Pate, Daniel Gerrell and Deandre Dublin all had 10 points for Princeton.

Yutzy ended the game with just seven points.

North Duplin traveled to North Johnston on Saturday, and will meet Ayden-Grifton on Tuesday in Ayden. Princeton also had a Saturday game against Spring Creek, and faces North Johnston Monday in Kenly.

Hawks take revenge on Blue Devils

LAGRANGE -- North Lenoir got revenge for an upset loss on Jan. 10 as the Hawks beat up South Lenoir 49-28 Friday night at Wooten Gym.

Junior Justin Dunn had 23 points in the win for the Hawks, while center Kevin Lee added 14.

North Lenoir will be at Greene Central on Tuesday.

North Johnston falls to hot-shooting Jags

KENLY -- North Johnston's rims were very much to the liking of Farmville Central Friday night. The Jaguars lit up the scoreboard in downing the Panthers 85-55 in a big Carolina 1-A Conference matchup.

Jake Lomonaco had 15 to pace North Johnston, who met North Duplin on Saturday and will take on Princeton on Monday.

Greene Central

BETHEL -- Greene Central suffered from foul-shot differential for the second straight game as the Rams fell to North Pitt 70-65 in a tough Eastern Plains 2-A Conference matchup Friday night.

Greene Central's Teddie Waters continued to amaze as the freshman tallied 28 points.

Greene Central will take on North Lenoir on Tuesday night in Snow Hill.

Cougars continue strong run

Goldsboro's Tim Kornegay scored 13 points to guide the Cougars to a 55-48 victory over South Central on Friday.

Jaikelvin May scored 11 points for Goldsboro (14-2 overall), who improved to 11-1 in Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference play.

Faith falls

on long road trip

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Faith Christian's Aaron Sladick scored 13 points as Faith Christian fell 56-34 at Gateway Christian of Virginia on Friday.

The Conquerors (9-5, 2-4 Mid-Atlantic Christian 2-A) goes to Fayetteville Monday to play Berean Christian Academy.
