VANCEBORO -- West Craven scored 28 second half points en route to an 46-44 upset win over Charles B. Aycock Friday night.

The loss moved Aycock (13-5 overall) down to 8-4 in the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference

Emily Stewart posted a season-high 10 points in the loss for the Lady Falcons. Quaneisha Milner and Keyata Pettiford added nine points each.

Jessika Barnes led all scorers with 20 points, while Joyce Freeman provided 17 points.

Aycock hosts West Carteret on Tuesday.

MOREHEAD CITY -- Southern Wayne missed the front end of two one-and-one free-throw opportunities in the last two minutes as the Saints fell 44-40 on the road at West Carteret.

Southern Wayne (3-15 overall) dropped to 3-9 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference and was led by Jessica Teachey with 17 points. Tiffany Swinson and Dionne Dotson added nine points each.

Angela Dunn scored 16 points to pace the Patriots.

Southern Wayne hosts Washington on Tuesday.

Faith falls in Virginia

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Gateway Christian beat Faith Christian Academy 42-29 Friday night in a Mid-Atlantic Christian Athletic Association game Friday night.

Elizabeth Clarke and Elizabeth Christopher both had nine points to top Faith's scorers.

The loss was the second straight for the Lady Conquerors after losing 49-13 Thursday night to Faith Christian Academy of Rocky Mount. Elizabeth Christopher had five points to lead Faith in that game.

The Lady Conquerors will be at Berean Baptist on Tuesday.

North Lenoir cruises past Blue Devils

LAGRANGE -- North Lenoir's girls had little trouble in downing South Lenoir 61-29 Friday night in a key East Central 2-A Conference matchup.

Lonnie Jones led the Hawks (17-2, 4-1) with 15 points while Katy Maloney, Shannon Plymouth and Tammy Moye added 11 each. Erin Pike led the Blue Devils (12-8, 2-4) with seven points.

North Lenoir will travel to Greene Central on Tuesday.

KENLY -- Farmville Central picked up a big road win Friday night with a 56-52 victory over North Johnston.

Megan Zullo finished with 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Jags, and Ashley Harris also had a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. North Johnston was led by Helen Moore with 28, while Jana Rogerson and Brandy Brencheck had 10 points each.

North Johnston took on North Duplin Saturday and will meet Princeton on Monday.

PIKEVILLE -- Rosewood's Courtney Hill scored 11 points to pace a balanced Lady Eagle attack in a 41-38 win.

Kasey Grey, Kasie Braswell and Keli Gurley added points each for the Eagles (8-3). Aycock's Chelsey Jackson scored nine points.

Rosewood travels to Midway on Wednesday.

Grantham 28, Dillard 12 -- Shakoria Clark led Grantham with 15 points as Grantham finished at 8-6 overall and claimed the Division II championship with a 7-1 championship.
