HELEN BOSTIAN HALL

Feb. 16, 1917-Aug. 4, 2018

Helen Margaret Bostian Hall, 101, Newark, Del., died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Genesis Health Care of Salisbury, N.C.

Helen was a woman of all seasons. She could chase a toddler through the house while cooking supper.

She was the best cookie maker, but had the skills of a doctor when caring for a child.

She was always kind, and loved to help others in need. She was blessed with many things, but never bragged to others of what she had.

She was full of comfort, compassion, faith, hope and love. She has left a great legacy for her family to carry on.

She was a member of Newark United Methodist Church, but had been adopted by the Koinonia Sunday school class at First United Methodist Church Lexington.

In Newark, she was a member of the altar guild for more than 45 years.

She was also a member of the Century Club, and was a longtime volunteer at the Delaware Blood Bank.

She loved to play bridge, and played even when she was 101.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, by the Rev. Doug Rowe.

The family will receive friends prior the service in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Hall was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Richmond County, N.C., to John Franklin Bostian and Lillian May Waller Bostian.

Her husband, Charles James Hall, and her sisters, Geneva Thrower, Tancy O’Brien and Alice Coggins, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Mike Hall and wife, Lauren, of Lexington; her daughters, Susan Best and husband, Bill, of Goldsboro, Judy Slater and husband, Richard, of Charlotte and Jane Curran and husband, Jim, of Winston-Salem; her sister, Edna Wheeler of Hamlet; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to The Pastor’s Pantry of Lexington or charity of choice.

Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net.
