Edith Gray Eatmon Everette, 86, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care, surrounded by her family.
Born in Johnston County, she was the youngest child of the late William Sherman Eatmon and Roxanne Whitfield.
A homegoing service will be Saturday Aug. 11, at 1 p.m. at St. James AME Zion Church, with the Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Everette Memorial Cemetery, Old Smithfield Road.
She is survived by her four children: Carol (Levi) Dillahunt, Jonise (Ronald) Stallings, John Everette Jr., and Sandra (Rick) Newsome; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Carlton D. Atkinson; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 7 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at J. B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
