Jimmie Melvin Wheeler, 72, Smithfield, died at SECU Hospice House Friday.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clayton Church of God of Prophecy. Private burial will be in Watha United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 29, 1946, in Pender County to the late James Franklin and Dorothy Carlene Godwin Wheeler. He was married to Cheri Dianne Manning Wheeler of Smithfield.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters.
