Norma Christine Pappas Pike, 70, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, April 4.

Born Sept. 11, 1947, in Anthony, N.M., the second of four children born to Laura Marquez Pappas and Thomas Pappas.

Christine spent most of her childhood in Alamogordo, N.M.

Her spare time was spent working with her parents and siblings at their family restaurant, The Frostee.

She moved to Goldsboro, N.C., after marrying the love her life, James David Pike III "Jim." There, she devoted her life to her husband and raising their three daughters.

Christine attended St. Paul United Methodist Church. She exemplified God's love, and had a heart for serving others.

For several years, she served her community as a teacher's assistant with the Wayne County School System.

She owned and operated The Golden High-Steppers, where she instructed baton twirling and confidence to young girls.

Additionally, Christine was the secretary at Pike Motor Co. for more than 30 years, where she worked with her husband.

Christine dearly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Most weekends, she could be found on the coast of Atlantic Beach with her husband, Jim.

She also enjoyed cooking, dancing and her beloved dog, Peanuts.

Christine is survived by her loving husband of almost 45 years, Jim.

Christine is also survived by her daughters, Crystal Pike Malpass and husband, Carl, of Raleigh, Laura Pike Deprill and husband, Mike, of Charleston, S.C., and Jamie Pike Kelly and husband, Alan, of Raleigh.

Grandchildren surviving Christine are Gracen, Tres and Ava Pike Malpass of Raleigh, Braden and Madeline Deprill of Charleston and Louisa and Thomas Kelly of Raleigh.

She is also survived by her siblings, Penny Trainham and husband, Bill, of Dallas, Texas, and Tommy Pappas and wife, Rhonda, of Alamogordo, N.M., and several special cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Christine was proceeded in death by her sister, Cassandra Pappas of Alamogordo, N.M.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Harry and the Rev. Phyllis Vail officiating.

Family members will greet friends following the service in the church parlor.

A private inurnment at the columbarium will proceed afterward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Endowment Fund or the Garden Fund at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, are most welcome.
