MYRTLE GRIFFIS MOORE

Myrtle Griffis Moore, 96, Goldsboro, went to be with Jesus Thursday, March 22, 2018, surrounded by her family at Wayne UNC Hospital.

Myrtle was born in Johnston County Jan. 15, 1922, to the late Edgar Malcolm Griffis and Emma Hinnant Griffis. She was married for 68 years to the late Russell Miller Moore.

Myrtle loved United in Christ Church, where she was a dedicated and faithful servant. She was a true Christian lady, who loved God, and lived each day showing those around her what faith in action is all about.

Myrtle had also volunteered with Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Myrtle enjoyed trips with her family.

She also enjoyed visiting the sick and shut-ins, and will be remembered by many for her faithfulness in doing so.

Most of all, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. Myrtle will be missed, but greatly remembered.

A service to celebrate Myrtle's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at United in Christ Church, with the Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Myrtle was a devoted wife and mother.

She is survived by her children, Mickey Moore and wife, Donna, of Cleveland, Tenn., Sandi Eubanks and husband, Bill, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Betty Grantham and husband, Mitchell, of Goldsboro and Donna Grimes and husband, John, of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Russell Eubanks and wife, Kim, of Roswell, Ga., Brian Eubanks and wife, Becky, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Brent Moore and wife, Michelle, of Denver, Colo., Jared Grantham and wife, Amanda, of Goldsboro, Lauren Rogers and husband, Brooks, of Midlothian, Va., Ashley Large and husband, Cameron, of Roanoke Rapids, Jack Grimes and wife, Brittany, of Austin, Texas, and Hannah Grimes of Roanoke Rapids; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Eubanks, Lindsey Eubanks, Evan Moore, Maren Moore, Ellisyn Rogers, Paxton Rogers and Kylee Grantham.

She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Womack and Ruth Creech of Emerald Isle.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant great-grandson, Ryder Grantham; sisters, Mary Carter and Mildred Boyette; and brother, Garland Griffis.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
