MARVIN RAY WORLEY

Marvin Ray Worley, 69, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill surrounded by his family.
Marvin was born in Wayne County, N.C., March 15, 1948, to the late Marvin Worley and Eva Anderson Worley.
He was retired from the State Department of Motor Vehicles Licenses and Theft Division, and was a past member of Goldsboro Rescue Squad.
Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
An avid train enthusiast, he loved traveling to Disney World, and taking an underprivileged child and their families.
Marvin was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by the governor of North Carolina for his service to our state.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A service to celebrate Marvin's life will be Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Crank and the Rev. Mike McAuley.
The family will receive friends following the service.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Angie Gurley of Goldsboro; grandson, Colby Hooks of Goldsboro; and sisters, Mary Ann Ward of Goldsboro, Linda Braswell and husband, Bobby, of Goldsboro and Donna White and husband, Eddy, of Wrightsville Beach.
He is also survived by his nieces, Michelle Beach and husband, Dan, and their children, Summer and Hunter, and Lisa Ward and friend, Kevin Bates, and Savannah White; nephew, Brandon Braswell and wife, Sandra, and their children, Emily and Anna; and great-nephew, Matthew Ward (son of predeceased nephew, Steve Ward).
