James Garland Herring, 85, LaGrange, died Monday at home.
Graveside service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at The Flatfield Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Lenoir County to the late Egbert Marcus Herring Sr. and Nora Becton Herring Rhodes. His daddy who raised him, Roy T. Rhodes, also preceded him in death. He was married to Marie Price Herring.
Visitation will follow the service. At other times, the family will receive friends at the Herring home.
Arrangements are by Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
