Danny Roger Kearney, 58, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Saturday at his home.
Danny was born in Wayne County April 21, 1959, to Shirley Davis Gardner of Goldsboro and the late Roger Kearney.
He graduated with a degree in social work from East Carolina University.
Danny had served his country in the United States Air Force.
A service to celebrate Danny's life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dane Williford officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of his mother.
In addition to his mother, Danny is survived by his son, Joshua Kearney; grandchildren, Harley Johnston and Jordan Johnston; stepbrothers, Don Gardner and wife, Sheila, and David Gardner and wife, Bobbie; stepsister, Peggy Daniels; and his stepmother, Lou Kearney.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Taletha "Tee" Kearney; son, Dan Bob Kearney; and his stepfather, Ray Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 3302 N.C. 111 North, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Potter's Wheel Ministries, 147 Faith Lane, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
