Paul Melvin Elliott, 86, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at the Brian Center in Goldsboro.
Paul was born June 4, 1931, in Richland, W. Va., to the late William James and Cornelia Elliott.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Paul entered the service at a young age to prevent from being drafted.
Paul was stationed in many different countries and states across the world from South Korea, Germany and California.
It was in Germany that he met who would become the love of his life, Marianne Charlotte Rumpe Elliott; they later got married while in Germany.
Following his retirement from the service, Paul continued his education, earning a master's degree in special education.
Private services will be held for the family.
In addition to his loving wife, Paul is survived by his daughter, Sharon York of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and his grandchildren, Paris York and Chelslia York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Batchelor.
