DAVID MCKINLEY LASSITER SR.

David McKinley Lassiter Sr., 83, Princeton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017.

He was born Sept. 21, 1934, and was the son of the late Nathan and Effie Mae Pearce Lassiter.

Mr. Lassiter was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Elizabeth Honeycutt Lassiter; brothers, Nathan Lassiter Jr., Paul Lassiter, Gardner Lassiter, Thurman Lassiter and Tommy Lassiter; and one sister, Edna Starling.

He had many interests; he had been employed by Stackhouse as a truck driver, he worked at Cherry Hospital in the agriculture department and he also was a farmer.

The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m. in Casey Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock and the Rev. Mike Collier officiating. The committal will take place Friday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 28, between 5 and 7 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home.

He is survived by a son, David Lassiter Jr. and Terrie Taylor of Princeton; daughters, Darlene Stroud and Hank of Princeton, Deborah Hester and Harold of Princeton, Barbara Barnes and Glenn of Goldsboro, Laura Worley and Keith of Princeton and Wendy Creech and Billy of Princeton; brothers, Monk Lassiter and Rock Lassiter; sister, Marjorie Pipkins; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
