TOMMY GARRETT

Aug. 17, 1961-Dec. 8, 2017

Tommy Allan Garrett, 56, passed away suddenly Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at his home.

Tommy was born in Wayne County Aug. 17, 1961, to Kathleen P. Garrett of Goldsboro and the late Robert L. Garrett Sr.

He was a valued employee of Franklin Baking Co. in Goldsboro.

Tommy was a man of many talents from being passionate about cooking to making people laugh to going fishing, and could fix almost anything.

He was tender-hearted, a gentle giant who was larger than life, and every life he touched he changed.

Most important to Tommy was his family. Tommy worked so hard to make sure his children were well taken care of, and he will be truly missed.

A service to celebrate Tommy's life will be held Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Huskins officiating. A private interment for the family will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Tommy is survived by his son, Daniel Garrett; daughter Paige Vick (April); brother, Robert L. "Bobby" Garrett, Jr.; sister, Carol Anne Garrett Bowden (David); uncles, Charles R. Kulasxa and Hank Penwell; maternal grandparents of his children, Edith and Dan Perry; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.

He is also survived by his faithful companion and k-9 friend, Reba.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Cynthia P. Garrett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Wayne County Sheriff's Office Canine Team.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
