Jack Earl Thomas, 65, beloved father, companion and brother, passed quietly from this life Nov. 23, in Orlando, Fla., after a brief illness.
Born in Waco, Texas, he was the son of the late N.J. "Jimmy" Thomas Jr. and the late Gay Thomas.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva Mae Harrison and N.J. "Jimmy" Thomas Sr.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the American Legion Shirley-Hill Post 94 in Snow Hill, N.C.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with Mr. Von Vernon officiating.
The family will greet friends Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Jack is survived by the love of his life, Amanda Kear; sons, Brandon Kear and Jacob Buttersworth; his brother, N.J. Thomas III; his mother, Diane Smith Thomas; brother, Brad Herring; and sister, Kari Herring Williams.
