DOROTHY GINN HERRING

Aug. 29, 1922-Nov. 4, 2017

Dorothy Ginn Herring, 95, Goldsboro, passed away on Saturday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born in Wayne County on Aug. 29, 1922, to the late Roy and Bertha Brown Ginn. She was married to the late Ralph Lee Herring.

Dorothy's warmth, generosity, and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those she encountered throughout her life. She was a longtime member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church. Dorothy will be sorely missed here on earth, but we take solace in the fact that after her long battle with Alzheimer's she is now at peace with her Lord.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Dorothy's life at 2:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with her son-in-law, the Rev. Craig Langston, officiating.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Kaye Mason and Janet Langston (Craig); five grandchildren, David Langston, Marc Langston, Allen Koch, Susan Kelly (David), and Kathey Mooring (Jim); six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Webb (Frank).

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James R. Herring; son-in-law, Roy Mason; brother, Garland Ginn; and sister, Clara Edmundson.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, 2802 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530 or The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
