MIKE FARFOUR

March 31, 1926-Aug. 30, 2017

Michaux J. "Mike" Farfour, 91, Goldsboro, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at his home.

Mike was born in Wayne County on March 31, 1926, to the late Joseph and Camilla Rabil Farfour.

He had attended Duke University. Mike retired from Spalding Sporting Goods after 60 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps.

Mike lived a life of dedication to his family and friends, and to his community. He served his community in many ways and was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club. Mike's passion was golf and if it was a beautiful day, he enjoyed being on the links sharing shots and laughter with his friends.

A Mass to celebrate Mike's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, of which he was a member. The family will greet friends in the hour prior to the service and following the service at the church.

Mike is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frankie Shaver Farfour; son, Jeff Farfour and wife, Kelly; daughter-in-law, Gina Farfour; grandchildren, Devon Farfour, Taylor Farfour, Parker Farfour and Madison Farfour; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much, including Cathy Howell and Fran Twisdale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Farfour; brothers, Louis Farfour and Frank Farfour; and sisters, Pauline Darrough, Nellie Todd, Violette Farfour, and Camille Dreyfus.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
