JARED E. PAINTER

Aug. 24,1988-Aug. 27, 2017

Jared Eugene Painter, 29, resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away at Vidant Medical Center in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017.

Jared was a 2007 graduate of North Duplin High School and he attended Wayne Aviation, completing his aviation training at Dillon's Aviation in Greenville.

He possessed an entrepreneurial spirit and was associated with Nino's Bistro and Catering in Mount Olive. Jared was a very likable and lovable soul who had a bubbly personality. He was a dear friend to many, and while he had his own problems, his own shortcomings were minute when he was in the presence of those who needed his listening ear and strong shoulder to lean upon.

Jared's family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive between 6 and 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31. At other times, they are at the home of his parents, 988 Bethel Church Road, Mount Olive. Jared's life will be remembered in a service to be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, at Tyndall Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Terry Coates.

Jared is survived by a loving family which includes his husband, Joe Sunderland, of the home; his parents, Scott and Beth W. Painter, of Mount Olive; two brothers, Brandon Painter and Marlan Painter, both of Mount Olive; maternal grandparents, Sam and Polly Williams of Eufaula, Ala.; aunts and uncles, Russell Echols, Kim Box, Todd Williams, and Bruce Painter; god-parents, Paul and Debra Allen; parents-in-law, Dave and Mary Stamets; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Leslie Campbell, Emily Stamets and Sam Stamets; several cousins, nieces, and nephews who were very special to Jared; and last but not least, Jared's special friend since childhood, Preston Grantham, now serving in the U.S. Army.

Jared was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Echo St. John Painter and Bernard E. Painter; and an uncle, Eugene Painter, after whom Jared was named.

While the family appreciates each and every floral tribute, in order to assist some worthy students with college along the way, they welcome contributions to the Jared Painter Memorial Fund, c/o Scott Painter, 988 Bethel Church Road, Mount Olive N.C. 28365.

Fly high, Jared -- you will be sorely missed.
