ELDON THORNTON
Eldon Fountain Thornton, 88, of Faison, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Langdon and Eula Casey Thornton; brother, Bromley Thornton, and sister, Miriam Thornton Gore.
A memorial service to celebrate his life was held Saturday, April 15, at Faison Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane McLeod Thornton; children, June Thornton Kolakowski (Troy) of Dunn; Allan Thornton (Laura) of Faison, and Nancy Thornton Hobbs (Mike) of Greenwood, S.C.; son-in-law, Royce King; brother, Robert “Bobby” Thornton, and sister, Harriett Thornton Hobbs of Clinton and nine grandchildren, Lydia and Perry King, Elizabeth, Anna Lee and Callie Thornton, and Hannah, Sarah, Rebekah and Ethan Hobbs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faison Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 160, 209 N. Church Street, Faison, N.C.
Arrangements were with Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Clinton, N.C.
