Joe Wayne "Tony" Baker, 81, Pikeville, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
He was born Nov. 30, 1935, in Greene County to the late Joe Wyatt Baker and Loty Parker Baker.
He was the widower of the late Mollie Ellen Phillips Baker, and was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Ransom Baker.
Funeral services will be held at Casey Funeral Home chapel Thursday, April 13, at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The committal service will be conducted Friday, April 14, at 10 a.m. in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Wayne Baker and wife, Kay, of Pikeville and Douglas "Sambo" Gary Baker and wife, Pamela, of Goldsboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ellen Baker of Pikeville, Gloria Baker and James Lane of Fremont, Teresa Baker of Kenly and Rose Marie Baker Voss and husband, Joel, of New Bern; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Casey Funeral Home chapel and other times at 958 Gurley Dairy Road.
