LINDA S. MCKEEL

Mrs. Linda Carol Shingleton McKeel, 71, Snow Hill, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, with her family at her side.
A native of Greene County, she was born Sept. 25, 1945, the daughter of Samuel Eugene and Emma Lissey Shingleton.
Mrs. McKeel was a retired CNA with Lenoir Memorial Hospital, and a member of Davis Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny M. "Mac" McKeel in 2006.
Her surviving family includes her daughters, Wendy McKeel Carter and husband, Lloyd Carter Jr., and Michelle McKeel Warters and husband, Richard, all of Snow Hill; son, Johnny M. McKeel Jr. of Walstonburg; grandchildren, Trey Carter, Tyler Carter and wife, Danielle, Austin Mooring and special friend, Carlee Carter, Josh McKeel and fiancee´, Allie, Sydney McKeel and Madison McKeel; a brother, Bobby Shingleton and wife, Ethel; and special caregiver, Greg Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with the Rev. Steven Gay officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
