Blanche Hill Jones, 87, Pikeville, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Countryside Village.

Blanche was born in Johnston County Aug. 29, 1929, to the late Willis Jasper Hill and Lucy Langdon Hill. She was married to the late Edward Jones.

Blanche had worked with Nahunta Pork Center for more than 35 years.

Her warmth, generosity and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those she encountered throughout her life.

Blanche was a longtime member of Barbour Chapel Advent Christian Church.

A service celebrating Blanche's life will be held Monday, March 6, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Anderson Barnes and the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.

Interment will be Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 3 p.m. in the cemetery at Barbour Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Blanche is survived by her sons, Eddie Jones and wife, Linda, of Nashville and Ken Jones and wife, Vickie, of Pikeville; sisters, Vida Massengill of Live Oak, Fla., Myrtle Barbour of High Point and Florine Creech and husband, Bobby, of Smithfield; grandchildren, Michelle Jones, Emily Jones and Laura Beth Jones; and a great-grandson, Teven Dungan.
