Roy Lee Thigpen, 77, Wilson, passed away Monday.
His funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Joyner's Funeral Home of Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park of Wilson. The Rev. Bill Groce will officiate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson, and other times at the home of his sister, Linda.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Brenda Lee Moore of Wilson and Tina Bryant of Wilson; his son, Tim Bryant of Wilson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Linda T. Garris of Wilson; brother, Danny Thigpen of New Jersey; and his loving niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Williams; parents, Andrew Jackson and Mary Inez Thigpen; and his brother, Larry Thigpen.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Roy's honor to Daniels Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Food Pantry, 4828 Frank Price Church Road, Wilson, N.C., 27893.
