Died Jan. 28, 2017

Aline York Woodard, 97, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Herbert and Alma Formy Duval York, and was the widow of John Edward Woodard.

Mrs. Woodard was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Woodard at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Jane Gale Woodard presiding.

A private interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

Surviving are daughters, Jeanine W. Parrott and husband, Joseph, of Indian Land, S.C., and Gay Cerny and husband, Pete, of Goldsboro; son, Richard Woodard and wife, Jane Gale, of Goldsboro; sister, Joyce Casey of Dudley; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl York, Thomas Herbert York and Glenn York, and sisters, Helen Ellis Potter and Josephine Denmark.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or The Lords Table, P.O. Box 11049, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, to benefit the Haiti Ministry.
