SARAH HERRING ROBINSON

Sarah Herring Robinson, 77, Goldsboro, passed away Monday at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Sarah was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. She was devoted to her church, served on the church council, the bereavement committee, the sound system team and Sixty Uppers, and was a former office volunteer.

Sarah was also a member of the J. Paul Edwards Sunday school class, as well as an inaugural member of The Shepherds of St. Paul. She was involved in many other activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Sarah was employed for more than 20 years at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, and served on the chamber's Military Affairs Committee.

Sarah was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever-present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life.

So, too, will she be remembered for her compassionate spirit and soul and her gift of finding joy in doing random acts of kindness for others. She was the embodiment of love as we have been taught by our Savior, Christ Jesus.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. in the church parlor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, followed by a service celebrating Sarah's life at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. James Harry and the Rev. Phyllis Vail officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Sarah is survived by her beloved husband, Tommy Robinson; sisters, Kathy Hughes and husband, Robert, of Raleigh and Marty Herring of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers, Bob Herring of Fayetteville and David Herring and wife, Ginger, of Fayetteville; sister-in-law, Vicky Herring of Apex; special cousin, Anna Lee and husband, Russell, of Goldsboro; nephew, David Hughes and wife, Courtney, of Angier; niece, Susie Pike and husband, Jason, of Fayetteville; and many other nieces and nephews she loved very much.

She is also survived by her special canine friend, Truman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Thomas Herring and Sara Brown Herring; brother, William Thomas Herring; great-nephew, Kyle Byrd; and sister-in-law, Doc Herring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Sarah to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 204 E. Chestnut St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
