William "Bill" Dwight Hehl, 85, of Crestwood Drive, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service with full military honors be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro.
Mr. Hehl was born in Buxton, N.C., to the late William and Nina Burnette Hehl. He was retired from the United States Air Force and was a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Chase Hehl; two stepsons, Tommy Colie and wife, Connie, of Hookerton, and Timothy Colie and wife, Susan, of Oxford; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Ellington and husband, Bill, of Manson, and Deborah Whitley and husband, Ben, of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren, Heather and Jamie Peele, Tony and Tracy Coley, Holly Colie, Kelly and Thomas Greene, Brian Colie, Jennifer and Shawn Flaugher, Gabriel and Angela Ellington and Tracy Adcock; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
