KASEY LADOUCE SWARTZ

KASEY LADOUCE SWARTZ

April 23, 1987-Jan. 15, 2017

Kasey LaDouce Swartz, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, passed peacefully into that far better life with her Lord. Her courage during this fight was typical of her strength of character, reflecting her loyalty and dedication to and deep love for her family and her zest and love of life.

Kasey's life will be remembered in a celebration service Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Immediately following the service, the family will greet friends in the narthex.

Kasey was a dedicated and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She had a drive to help all those in need of a smile while going through her own challenges of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Many took the journey with her as she was the creator and writer of the Fabulous Fight blog. Her life goal was to create a legacy and to remind us that struggles breed greatness.

Kasey was born in Saginaw, Mich., with a strong-willed spirit of determination, dedication and perseverance.

She was able to touch the lives of others through her tears, fears and laughter, giving them hope even through her own adversity. Her smile gave light even on the darkest days.

She had a love of shoes, and enjoyed being on the water.

She accomplished so many things during her short time here on earth.

Kasey was a talented hair stylist in New York, and loved her job and the people at the Goldsboro YMCA as an administrative assistant. She was also a public speaker and strong advocate for Cures for the Colors, which was very near and dear to her heart.

Her biggest accomplishment was to be a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Alec, and an amazing mother to her daughter, Cambria.

She is also survived by mother, Pam Talaga; father, Scott LaDouce and wife, Mary; brothers, Sean LaDouce and wife, Lauren, and James LaDouce; nephew, S.J. LaDouce; and stepsisters and brother, Caitlan, Emily and Evan Gottschling.

She is also survived by her grandparents, James and Marilyn LaDouce and Patricia Baczkiewicz.

She was preceeded in death by her grandparent, Rufian Baczkiewicz.

Kasey's family would like to acknowledge the staff of Community Home and Hospice Care, particularly Karen and Holly, as well as the many friends, caregivers, nurses and physicians, who had a profound impact on the quality of Kasey's life in recent years.

Special thanks go to Kasey's primary care physician, Dr. Jason Boyd, and the nurses at SMOC; together they demonstrated what constitutes excellent medical care.

More than anything, Kasey loved making people laugh and smile, so please, rather than dwelling on the tragic end of her story, laugh at the memories she made and the fun she had.

Please tell Cambria stories, so she knows how much Kasey loved her and how proud of her she will always be (and make her sound waaay cooler than she was). Because she loved nothing more than being her mommy. Nothing. Every moment with her daughter was a happiness she couldn't even imagine until Cambria came crashing into her parents' world.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Kasey's memory to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
