MARSHA KANE METZ

MARSHA KANE METZ

Marsha Kane Metz, 71, Belleville, Pa., passed away with her family by her side at her home.

Marsha was born in Jacksonville, Fla., July 24, 1945, to Charlie and Marjorie Kane, both of whom she loved dearly.

She attended Andrew Jackson High School, where she made many lifelong friends, and was celebrated as a "natural beauty" inside and out.

She later attended Florida Southern, where she met her husband, John H. Metz of Belleville, Pa.

While Marsha loved Florida, her friends and family, she was led to Belleville by her heart and desire to start a family.

Marsha is survived by her husband John of nearly 50 years. Together, they created a beautiful family that will always work hard to honor her life, love and spirit through their love of each other and the legacies they will perpetuate.

This includes, by family, daughter, Julie H. Metz, granddaughter, Ruthie Thompson and Ty Norris of Goldsboro, N.C.; son, David K. Metz, daughter-in-law, Jennifer F. Metz, and grandchildren, Owen and Kathryn of Boiling Spring, Pa.; and son, Adam L. Metz and daughter-in-law, Jen C. Metz, and grandchildren, Joshua, Aidan and Benjamin of Camp Hill, Pa.

She is also survived by her beloved Annie, a four-legged companion; a younger sister, Debbie Kane Hill of Frisco, Texas; and, numerous friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her older sister, Barbara Kane Shannon, and her parents, Charlie and Marjorie Kane.

Marsha/Mom/Gram influenced her family and those who met her.

Above all, she deeply cared about doing her best. She went above and beyond in all her efforts, every detail, because she cared enough to do her best for herself and those she loved.

She enjoyed creating a home through her decorating and gardening, spending time with her family and friends, working out, biking, experiencing new places, hiking and going to the beach, her favorite place in the world.

Through it all, she knew she married the best man, one who cared for her with love and tenderness until the end.

She immensely loved her children, daughters-in-law and her grandchildren. She would tell them to work hard, do your best and to never give up -- you owe that to yourself.

She passed away in peace and with grace.

A celebration of her life will follow in the weeks to come.

A future announcement will be made.

For those interested, you can email her daughter, Julie at juliemt@nc.rr.com to assure notification once details are arranged.

In honor of her memory and her love for dogs, please consider donations to your local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.
