GEORGE B. HICKS JR.

George Bartholf Hicks Jr., 94, LaGrange, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston.
Originally from Ramsey, N.J., George moved to Texas, and lived with his son, Allen, until May 2007 when he came to North Carolina and lived with his son, George, until his death.
George retired from the United States Army in 1965, having served for 22 years.
He took a position as warehouse supervisor at JCPenney in New Jersey, and retired after 15 years of service.
He is survived by his two sons, Allen Hicks of Seguin, Texas, and George Hicks of LaGrange, N.C.; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at Eastern North Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Army. The Rev. Kyle Bellamy will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
The time of the service will be announced Monday by calling Seymour Funeral Home.
