Oran Curtis Duncan Jr., 80, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

Oran was born in Lee County, Va., Aug. 11, 1936, to the late Oran Curtis Duncan Sr. and Cora Scalf Duncan.

He proudly served his county in the United States Air Force, and retired after 22 years of service with the rank of technical sergeant.

Following his military career, Oran worked with Americal, and later retired from Belk in Goldsboro.

Oran was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Brad Mitchell officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at the cemetery and at other times, at the residence.

Oran is survived by his wife of 23 years sisters, Connie Kearney Duncan; children, Steve Duncan and wife, Terri, of Dudley, William Curtis Duncan of Tucson, Ariz., and Shannon B. Herring of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Evans, Jamie Duncan, Jessie Kyer, Jake Kyer, Landen Herring and Nicole Herring; and four great-grandchildren, David Brumley, Haley Evans, Savannah Evans and Cloey Thigpen.

He is also survived by his brothers, Billy Joe Duncan of Pennsylvania and Leroy Duncan of Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie D. Kyer; brothers, Carl Duncan, George Duncan and Otis Duncan; and sisters, Malvie Osborne and Alice Fore.

The family would like to express its appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Community Home and Hospice Care in Goldsboro. Love and heartfelt thanks are expressed especially to his caregivers, Trudy, Kelly, Sheree', Patricia and David.
