THOMAS MOORE KUBEL

Thomas Moore Kubel, 82, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Thomas was born in Newport News, Va., July 15, 1934, one of four children, to the late Richard Eugene Kubel and Eugenia Moore Kubel.
He was a graduate of Newport News High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserve.
Thomas retired as an engineer with Westinghouse.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, from noon to 1 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, followed by a service to celebrate Thomas' life at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. James Harry officiating. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 63 years, Claire Sheehan Kubel; sons, Thomas Moore Kubel Jr. and wife, Susan, and Douglas Bryan Kubel and wife, Katherine; daughter, Carol Anise Kubel; grandchildren, Heather Wright (James), Thomas Moore Kubel III, Allison Crouch (Eric), John Lee Hinson III and Matthew Hinson; and a great-grandchild, Elijah Wright.
