Jennette, 88, passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Blaney was born in Wayne County on May 13, 1928 to the late Ezra William Jennette and Annie Cox Jennette.
He retired as the plant manager for Boling Furniture Company after 23 years of service. He was a farmer, a builder, a woodworking craftsman and an avid fisherman. Blaney was a member of Falling Creek United Methodist Church.
A private graveside service for the family will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. with a memorial service remembering Blaney at 11:30 a.m. in Falling Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Greg Moser officiating.
Blaney is survived by his wife, Josephine
Ballance Jennette; children, Carol J. Moffatt and husband, Richard, of Morganton, Mary Sue Jennette of Raleigh, and Michael Jennette and wife, Tara, of Raleigh; sister, Julia Johnson of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Falling Creek United Methodist Church, 299 Falling Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
