ROBERT "BOB" WORTH NOAH

Mr. Robert 'Bob" Worth Noah, Dunnellon, Fla., passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at the age of 78.

Robert was born to parents, Charles and Hazel Noah, Jan. 13, 1938, in Guilford County, N.C.

He married Joyce Hefner, and together they had three children, Virginia, Kimberly and Robin.

They divorced in 1972. Robert was remarried to Brenda Ann Hoover in 1973, and together they had one child, Abbey.

Robert served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959.

He also served as a police officer for a total of 32 years, retiring as a captain from Goldsboro Police Department, N.C., in 2000.

Along with his wife, Brenda, he was the original proprietor of Charlie Goodnight's restaurant in Raleigh, N.C.

After selling the restaurant in 1978, Robert spent three years living, and sailing on, Noah's Ark out of Oriental, N.C.

Throughout his life, Robert pursued an interest in competitive pistol marksmanship and golf.

He was a Mason.

A unique soul, Robert was very funny, and made friends easily. He will be greatly missed.

Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda Hoover Noah; his daughters, Virginia Dunn, Kimberly Fortenberry, Robin Reed and Abbey Noah-Smith; and 10 grandchildren.
