James Edward Hayes Sr., 58, Mount Olive, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2016.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at 6 p.m. at West and Dunn Funeral Home chapel of Newton Grove. The Rev. Horace Johnson will be officiating.
The family will receive friends after the memorial service.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda R. Hayes; three daughters, Wendy H. Sutton and husband, Chad, of Grantham, Jennifer D. Baker and husband, David, of Pikeville and Barbara J. Hayes of Grantham; son, James Edward Hayes Jr. of Grantham; eight grandchildren; mother, Hettie Rose Lee of Newton Grove; two sisters, Joyce West and husband, Willie Jr., of Newton Grove and Alice Langston and husband, Gary Jr., of Newton Grove; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burchel Hayes.
