Jerri Leigh Cox Bilodeau, 57, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Jerri loved her family and was an ideal role model for her children.

She was a friend to all who knew her and always had a smile and kind word for the countless people whose lives she touched. She was truly loved and cherished by a multitude of friends.

Jerri is survived by her husband of 25 years, Gerald "B.J." F. Bilodeau, and her daughters, Ashleigh Caroline Bilodeau and Christal Leigh Bilodeau, whom she loved with all her heart and was so proud of.

Jerri was the glue that held her family together.

She is also survived by her loving mother, Carolyn Brinson Cox of Goldsboro, and her brother, Buddy Cox (Cathy) of Arapahoe.

In addition, she is survived by her stepchildren, Dianna (Clayton) Lemoine of Lebanon, Mo., and Jerry Thompson of Springfield, Mo.; five uncles; an aunt; her stepgrandchildren, Isaiah Huston, Natalie McCowan, Devon Southard and Zackary Southard; two nieces; a nephew; and her good friend of 33 years, Brenda Gay of Zebulon.

She is also survived by her loving cats, Misty and Tabby, and her precious lab, Midnight.

Jerri was a graduate of Mount Olive Junior College, and attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she majored in music, and continued on to a lifetime of teaching hundreds of music students.

She was the owner of Jerri's Music Extravaganza and co-owner of Jabco Music Center.

She served in the capacity of church pianist from her time in high school, and for a short period, choir director at Brogden United Methodist Church.

She, her husband and two daughters formed a quartet and sang for church benefits.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Brogden United Methodist Church, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Leonard Colby officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Brogden United Methodist Church, 2918 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C., 28333.
