SHELVA H. TRIVETTE

Sept. 17, 1936-Aug. 28, 2016

Sunday evening, Aug. 28, 2016, Shelva Harlow Trivette, Goldsboro, moved to her heavenly home.

Shelva was a godly woman, who loved the Lord and her family, and set an example for her children and grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.

Shelva was born in Bristol, Va., Sept. 17, 1936, to the late Otto and Cleo Fleenor Harlow.

She enjoyed the opportunities given to her by helping to impact the lives of so many children while working in the daycare at Wayne Christian School.

Shelva loved New Hope Friends Church, where she was a dedicated member, and was faithful in her service to the church.

She had a large extended circle of family and friends, and they were all very special to her. She will be missed, but greatly remembered.

A service celebrating Shelva's life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at New Hope Friends Church, with Bill Garner and the Rev. Sherman Dilley officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the family life center and other times at her home.

Interment will be Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Shelva is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bobby Ferrell Trivette; children, Lisa Williams, David Trivette and wife, Julia, and Sharon Dilley and husband, Sherman; and grandchildren, Hillary Beamon and husband, Jesse, Jason Williams, Tyler Dilley, Mandy Dilley and Amber Trivette.

She is also survived by her brothers, Marvin Harlow, Tony Harlow, Eddie Harlow and Gary Harlow, and sister, Cara Baker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Lee Roy Harlow.

Shelva's family would like to acknowledge the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice, particularly Karen Earnest and Carol Warren, as well as the friends, caregivers, nurses and physicians, who had a profound impact on the quality of Shelva's life in recent days.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to New Hope Friends Church, 4451 U.S. 70 East, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530; Meals on Wheels, WAGES, 601 Royall Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534; or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
