Bertha LaRose Holland Evans, 71, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016.
Bertha was born April 3, 1945, in Wayne County to the late Charlie James Holland and Esther Hinson Holland.
Bertha loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers.
Most important to Bertha was her family. She loved her family, and cherished the moments when they were all together.
A service to honor Bertha's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at 10 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home, with pastor Lee Britt officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Bertha is survived by two daughters, Beverly Barfield and husband, Ralph, and Melissa Villagran; four grandchildren, Wayne Barfield, Abelia Rosa Villagran, Jeanette Victoria Rodirguez and Rebecca Ann Alysworth; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Allen Register, Jordyn Brooke Smith and Natalyia Rose Alysworth; and nine siblings, Jean Whaley, Lillie Mae Deaver, Faye Hargrove, Darlene Pyle, Ted Holland, Linda Price, Theresa Jones, Dennis Holland and Ralph Holland.
In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by three brothers, James Holland, Charlie Holland and Chelsey Holland.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
