Leona Sasser Cobb, 91, Eureka, died Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Funeral Sunday 3 p.m. Eureka United Methodist Church, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment Eureka Cemetery.
She was committed to education in Lee and Wayne counties for many years.
She was an organist and pianist for more than 60 years, with the last 40 years being at Eureka United Methodist Church.
She was a member of United Methodist Women and Extension Club of Northern Wayne County.
Mrs. Cobb is survived by her daughters, Sue Webb (Ricky) of Stantonsburg and Jan Fairley (Clay) of Southport; grandchildren, Elizabeth Fairley, Amanda Fairley, John Thomas Fairley, Leigh Webb and Thomas Webb; sister, Janice Chase of Eureka; brother-in-law, Max R. Cobb of Kinston; niece, Lu Massey (Lou); and nephews, Johnnie Chase, Chase Massey (Emily) and Jackson Massey (Nicki).
