AMELIA LEE RETTIG

May 23, 2016-June 24, 2016

Amelia Lee Rettig passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on Friday, June 24, 2016, and is now in the loving arms of Jesus.

Amelia was born on May 23, 2016 in Goldsboro, N.C., weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces and measuring 20 3/4 inches long. She was an answer to prayer, and her parents waited for her birth with joyful expectation. During her brief visit on earth, she enjoyed listening to her mother sing to her, cuddling with her lamb, and being held close by her parents. Amelia was able to grip her mother's finger and respond to her father's touch. She had a few wisps of blonde hair, her father's button nose and her mother's lovely face. She was loved by all who met her, and will be greatly missed.

A service to celebrate Amelia's birth and life will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Bill Rose and Chaplain Lt. Col. Tim Rosenthal officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday at the church prior to the service from 5:30-7 p.m.

Amelia is survived by her parents, Matthew and Carissa Rettig; grandparents, Kimberly May, Maurine Rettig, Melvin Rettig and Gary Rust; great-grandparents, Sharon Rust and John Crangle; and her aunts and uncles, Shayla Dean, Tiffany Rust, Alex Rust, Major Rettig and Margo Rettig.

Special thanks to all the medical professionals who cared for Amelia.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at http://www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
