HERSHEL SISCO

Jan. 18, 1942-June 11, 2016

Hershel Sisco, 74, of LaGrange, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1-2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by service in the chapel celebrating Hershel's life at 2 p.m. Interment will conclude the service in the Pikeville Cemetery.

Hershel was born in Arkansas on Jan. 18, 1942, to the late William Jefferson Sisco Sr. and Helen Shirey Sisco. He was a retired master automobile technician, having worked with both Chevrolet and Ford dealerships, and before retirement for himself. While a resident of Crossett, Arkansas, Hershel was a member of Green Grove Assembly of God Church. Hershel's passion was fishing, hunting and gardening. Hershel had a huge heart, always giving and reaching out to others. There wasn't a stranger he hadn't met. He loved to make people laugh. Most would remember the joy that Hershel's presence would bring.

Hershel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Wanda Sisco; daughters, Janice Renee Lipscomb and husband, Dennis, Malissa Sisco and Regina Lynn Thwairan and husband, Mahdi; brothers, Wayne Sisco and wife, Sandra, and Jerry Sisco and wife, Kathy; sisters, Juaniece Gray, Linda Hanks and husband, Clifford, and Gwen Wooten and husband, Thomas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Lipscomb and wife, Maranda, Justin James, Dustin James and fiancée, Keri King, and Jessica James; and great-grandchildren, Jessica Renee Lipscomb and Braxton Jay James.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Dianne Sisco; granddaughter, Destinee James; and sister, Geraldine Jones.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Community Home and Hospice Care for the love and care they provided for Hershel during his final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Community Home and Hospice Care, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
