DORIS FRICK MONK

Doris Frick Monk passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Salisbury, N.C., to the late Joseph D. Frick and Ethel Cox Frick. Doris was the widow of James William Monk.
She attended Salisbury schools, and graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1943.
Doris worked at Southern Bell Telephone Co. before her marriage.
She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
Doris was also a member of St. Mary's guild for many years, and was a volunteer at St. Mary's School.
The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home Tuesday, March 29, from 7 to 9 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Joseph Mulroney presiding. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Jerome and Dinah Monk of Nashville, Tenn., Dennis and Trista Monk of Goldsboro, N.C., and Tim and Tammy Monk of Midlothian, Va.; five grandchildren; five great-grandsons; and two sisters, Ruth and Norma.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Memorials are requested to be made to St. Mary's School, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., or a charity of your choice.
