WILLA DEAN DAUGHTRY

Willa Dean Fann Daughtry, 82, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Willa Dean was born in Sampson County Dec. 2, 1933, to the late Lebron and Olivia Spell Fann.

She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.

Willa Dean was a valued employee of Whitley’s Ceramic, where she served as an instructor for many years.

She always enjoyed spending time in her yard, as it always showed, gardening and working with her flowers.

Willa Dean was a longtime member of Jefferson United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. She was devoted to her church, and was a member of the Circle of Love Ladies Circle, where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

A service celebrating Willa Dean’s life will be held Friday, March 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Linda Grider officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Willa Dean is survived by her husband of 60 years, J.R. Daughtry; daughters, Cynthia Daughtry of Goldsboro and Vanessa Libby and husband, Damon, of Cape Carteret; grandchildren, Cortney Boswell, Cameron Boswell, Brittany Martishius and Tyler Libby; and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Boswell.

She is also survived by three sisters, Madeline Barnes and husband, Lester, Virginia Lambert and Frances Canady and husband, Delmar, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Capps.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Jefferson United Methodist Church, 1100 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Cures for the Colors, Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
