C. CLAYTON LANE

C. Clayton Lane, 82, Mount Olive resident, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

He was a retired communications engineer with Raytheon Co.

He worshipped at First Baptist Church in Mount Olive, and was active in his Bible study class.

He was a ham radio enthusiast, and enjoyed good music, and was especially proud that he had mastered guitar playing. He also enjoyed time spent at his farm near Beautancus, enjoyed traveling and was quite an intelligent man, who never stopped seeking to increase his knowledge.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with burial following in Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be during the hour before the service.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie L. and Elie Wakim of Salem, N.H.; grandchildren, Simon and Eric Wakim; a son, Mark Lane of Washington state; stepdaughter, Sandra T. Pena of New Bern; stepdaughter-in-law, Teresa Weeks and her husband, Woody, of Dudley; stepgrandchildren, Teshia Weeks Purvis and Trevor and Trampus Tolar; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Kennedy Toler Lane; his father, Paul Lane; mother, Eleanor House Lane Jennette Langley; stepfather, Preston Langley; sister, Sue Lane Kornegay; brother, William "Bill" Lane; and stepson, Leland Toler.
