KAYE GRICE LANIER

Kaye Grice Lanier passed away Monday morning, Jan. 11, 2016, at her home in Calypso.

Her complete name was Sheliah Kaye Grice Taylor Lanier, and she was 74 years of age.

Kaye, a Calypso girl, being the daughter of the late Gordon F. Grice and Kathleen Hines Grice Hatcher, was a graduate of North Duplin High School.

She had been employed with J.P. Stevens Co. in Wallace before her long tenure of employment with DuPont Co. in Kinston, from which she retired.

In her retirement years, she employed herself in doing tax filing and preparation.

She was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and worshipped at the Mount Olive ward.

Kaye is survived by a son, Robert Blane Taylor, a resident of Caswell Center in Kinston; a longtime devoted friend, Norman “Minky” Swinson of the Beautancus community, Mount Olive; a sister, Sandra Grice Yaun and husband, Ralph Owen Yaun, of Leland, N.C.; a brother, Nicky Lynn Grice and wife, Melodi, of Pleasanton, Calif.; nephews and nieces, Ralph Christopher Yaun, Rebecca Angela Yaun, Niki Leigh Grice, and Nick Dwayne Grice; and a great-niece, Emily Kathleen Yaun.

Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, and at other times, at the residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mount Olive ward, with burial following in Calypso Cemetery.
