SUSAN OUTLAW WHALEY

SUSAN OUTLAW WHALEY

Feb. 7, 1944-Dec. 23, 2015

Susan Whaley, 71, Dudley resident, formerly of Mount Olive, peacefully returned home to her Lord and savior Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, while at home surrounded by her adoring family.

She will joyfully be united with her beloved mother, Louise Woodcock, who preceded her in death.

Susan leaves behind children and grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. These include sons, Chris Outlaw of Mount Olive and Mark Whaley of Greenville; daughters, Tammy Kaolowi and Annette Outlaw both of Mount Olive; and her precious grandchildren, Brandon Outlaw, Brooke Outlaw, and Meredith Keaton all of Mount Olive.

Susan's marriage to Norman R. Outlaw ended in his death in 2001.

She was very active in Relay for Life, where she met her future husband, Jerry Whaley. Almost immediately, they recognized God had created them to love each other. This love grew stronger every day, and they married Nov. 23, 2008.

Their time together was too short, but full of lasting love. Two sets of footprints became one; sorrow became happiness with bountiful fullness. Life is short but love endures forever.

Services are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, where the funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. Commitment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

The family will receive friends during the hour just before the service.

Flowers are indeed welcome.

"Love never dies as long as we hold onto it."
