Douglas Allan Stuart, 60, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, from complications of a stroke he suffered two days after his 60th birthday.

D.A. was born in Lewiston, Maine, Nov. 20, 1955, to the late Donald Greenfield Stuart and Marieanna Frances Kelly Stuart.

He was retired from law enforcement, and was the business owner of Renta-Spouse since 1989.

D.A. was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and the United States Army.

D.A. lived a life of dedication to his family and friends, and to his community.

He served as a member of the American Legion since 1975, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce since 1994 and the Wayne County Historic Association.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating D.A.'s life at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Military Honors will conclude the service.

D.A. is survived by his daughter, Crystal Lynn Trainer and husband, Michael, of Kyle, Texas; sons, Jammie Creekmore and wife, Angie, of Princeton and Bruce Creekmore and wife, Marsha, of Augusta, Ga.; and five grandchildren, Harley Trainer, Piper Creekmore, Lydia Creekmore, Macie Creekmore and Jonathan Creekmore.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in memory of D.A. to a scholarship fund for his grandchildren while attending the service Saturday.
