Bobby Rubin Potter, Mount Olive area resident, has left his disease-strickened body to receive his new heavenly body. Death came for him Wednesday night, Nov. 4, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with Bishop Thomas Moore Sr. and Bishop Ralph Parker conducting the service, with visitation to immediately follow. Burial will be Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Myers Potter of the home; three children and spouses, Keith and Darnell Potter of Mount Olive and Lisa P. and Charles Saylor and Teresa P. and Chuck Stott all of Dudley; five grandchildren, Jennifer Saylor, Meagan Stott, Nick Potter, Matthew Stott and Adam Stott; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion, "Molly."
Mr. Potter was a member of Wayne's Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
His life's work had been that of a mechanic, and in later years, he operated Bobby's Used Cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brownie and Dora Moody Potter; a grandson, Marc Saylor; and being the youngest of six children, his five older siblings are deceased.
